Nothing's budget-focused sub-brand CMF has expanded its audio lineup with two new portable Bluetooth speakers. Called the CMF Speaker S and Speaker M, the new speakers are designed for people who want to enjoy music on the go without spending too much. They also bring a distinctive design, bright colour options and features such as multi-speaker playback, making them an interesting addition to the portable speaker market.
While CMF is known for its affordable products, including smartphones, headphones and earbuds, these are its first portable Bluetooth speakers. The new models come with different driver setups, so you can choose between a smaller speaker for everyday listening and a larger one designed to deliver more powerful sound.
CMF speaker specs and features
Starting with the design, both CMF speakers feature what the company describes as an expressive geometric design. They are available in four colour options: white, dark grey, orange and turquoise. Both models also come with Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity and IP68-rated dust and water resistance.
The smaller CMF Speaker S features a 45mm full-range driver paired with two passive radiators. It delivers up to 10W RMS output and has a frequency response ranging from 70Hz to 20kHz. The larger CMF Speaker M, meanwhile, uses a dedicated 25W woofer and a 10W tweeter, delivering 35W RMS output. Its frequency response ranges from 60Hz to 20kHz, which should help it reproduce lower frequencies and separate vocals and instruments more clearly.
Both speakers feature adaptive tuning technology that analyses audio playback and adjusts the output and equaliser settings in real time, according to Nothing. Users can also choose between Ultra Bass and Wide Soundstage modes, along with four equaliser presets: Balanced, More Bass, More Treble and Voice. These settings can be customised through the Nothing X app.
For connectivity, the speakers support Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and NFC tap-to-pair. They can also connect to two devices simultaneously and support USB-C audio playback. A physical control knob handles playback, track navigation and volume, while dedicated buttons are available for power, Bluetooth pairing and Auracast.
The CMF Speaker S and Speaker M also support Stereo Mode and Party Mode. Stereo Mode lets users pair two identical speakers for stereo playback, while Party Mode allows multiple compatible speakers to play music together through Auracast.
Battery life is another key feature. Nothing claims both speakers can deliver up to 18 hours of playback on a single charge at 50 per cent volume with Ultra Bass enabled. A quick 10-minute charge is said to provide up to an hour of listening time.
CMF speaker price and availability
The CMF Speaker S is priced at $59 (roughly Rs 5,613), while the larger CMF Speaker M costs $109 (around Rs 10,371). Both speakers are available in white, dark grey, orange and turquoise colour options.
Sales begin today through Nothing's online store and select retail partners. The company has not announced India pricing or availability details yet.
