Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang introduced Black Forest Labs CEO Robin Rombach as his former intern, and the video went viral. Huang said, "For the rest of his life, he will always be an Nvidia intern." The duo met before Nvidia’s GTC Berlin event, which runs from October 20-22, 2026.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has caught the internet's attention after introducing Black Forest Labs CEO Robin Rombach as someone who once worked as an intern for him.
The moment highlighted a lesser-known connection between the two tech executives, who are now part of the fast-growing artificial intelligence (AI) world. A video of Huang's introduction has gone viral on social media, drawing attention to Rombach's journey from intern to the head of an AI company.
"One of the biggest interns, come here. I have raised so many CEOs and he's the CEO of Black Forest Labs, one of Germany's premier AI companies. His claim to fame was he was my intern. For the rest of his life, he will always be an Nvidia intern. It doesn't matter how successful he is and CEO, you'll always be an Nvidia intern (laughs)," Huang said.
Black Forest Labs is a German AI startup known for developing image-generation models that can create visuals from text prompts. Its technology, including the FLUX family of models, has gained attention in the AI space.
Huang, on the other hand, is the boss of Nvidia, whose chips and computing systems are widely used to develop and run AI models.
The duo met ahead of the upcoming Nvidia's GTC Berlin event, scheduled for October 20-22, 2026. Huang is set to deliver the conference keynote at the iconic Tempodrom on October 21, while Rombach is listed as a featured speaker. The event will bring together developers, researchers and business leaders to discuss developments in AI.
