The University of Calicut got government approval to launch new-generation courses from the 2027-28 academic year. These subjects include artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. The University of Calicut has got government approval to launch courses in new-generation subjects such as artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, financial analytics, and development economics from the 2027-28 academic year.
According to official sources, 28 colleges affiliated with the university spread across five districts have been allotted the courses.
MES Keveeyem College, Valanchery; Thunchan Memorial Government College, Tirur, both in Malappuram; Government Arts and Science College, Meenchanda, Kozhikode; and Government College, Chittur, Palakkad, have got the approval for BSc (Applied Statistics with Data Science Honours) with an intake of 24 students each. Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode, has got BSc (Applied Statistics with Data Science) with an intake of 24 students.
Government Arts and Science College, Kondotty, Malappuram; and SARBTM Government College, Koyilandy, and Government Arts and Science College, Nadapuram, both in Kozhikode, have got sanction to launch a BSc Honours course in Artificial Intelligence with an intake of 24 students.
Thunchan Memorial Government College, Tirur, has got a BA (Public Administration Honours) with an intake of 40 students. CKG Memorial Government College, Perambra, Kozhikode, will get a BSc (Geography Honours) course with 24 seats.
W.M.O. Arts and Science College, Muttil, Wayanad, has got approval for BSc (Cybersecurity Honours) with an intake of 24 students. Government Arts and Science College, Thrithala, Palakkad, will launch an MCom (Financial Analytics) course with an intake of 15 students.
Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Government Arts and Science College, Attappady, Palakkad, has got sanction for BA (Development Economics Honours) with an intake of 40 students. M.P.M.M. SN Trusts College, Shoranur, has got approval for BSc (Geology Honours) with an intake of 24 seats.
