West Ham United appointed Scott Parker as head coach on Wednesday after sacking Nuno Espirito Santo. Parker signed a two-and-a-half-year contract to lead the club. "It is a very proud moment for me to step into this role," Parker said. He previously helped Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley reach the Premier League.

The 46-year-old Scott Parker, who previously guided Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley to Premier League promotion, has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with West Ham United.

West Ham United appointed former captain Scott Parker as its new head coach on Wednesday, a day after parting ways with Nuno Espirito Santo following a disappointing start to its EFL Championship campaign.

The 46-year-old Parker has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the London club, which is seeking an immediate return to the Premier League after being relegated at the end of last season.

Nuno was dismissed on Tuesday, just 13 matches into the Championship season, with West Ham sitting eighth in the standings following consecutive defeats.

Parker returns to the club where he made 129 appearances between 2007 and 2011. The former England midfielder enjoyed a successful spell at West Ham, winning the club's Player of the Year award three consecutive times.

The Englishman also brings considerable experience of securing promotion from the Championship, having previously guided Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley into the Premier League in 2020, 2022 and 2025, respectively.

"It is a very proud moment for me to step into this role and return to a club that means so much to me and my family," Parker told the club's official website.

"A lot of very fond memories of my time here, four years of probably the best football I played in my career."

During his playing career, Parker also represented Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham. He earned 18 international caps for England.
