Shubman Gill and Shafali Verma were named ICC Player of the Month for September on Tuesday.
Gill earned his fifth Player of the Month award on the back of his stunning ODI knocks against the recently held series against West Indies. In the first match, the Indian captain hit 110 before smashing an unbeaten 223, winning both the games for his team while chasing.
"It feels fantastic to win my fifth ICC Player of the Month award, and I am grateful to the panel for this honour," Gill said.
"It was immensely satisfying to score those runs and even more special to be part of successful run chases in front of our home fans, whose support always gives us an extra boost." he added.
For Shafali, this was her second Player of the Month award. Her returns in September's Asia Cup as well as in the Asian Games, made significant in India's title runs in both tournaments.
While the 22-year-old opener scored 236 runs in five innings in UAE, she scored 188 in three matches in Nagoya to help India clinch gold.
"It is an incredible honour to win the ICC Player of the Month award again," Shafali said.
"It was immensely satisfying to play my part in our victories at the Asia Cup and the Asian Games, and winning this award makes those triumphs even more special."
