The BCCI on Monday named Pragyan Ojha as chairman of the men's selection committee, with Ramesh Powar joining the panel. This change follows Ajit Agarkar's exit from the role he held since July 2023. The new five-member team now includes Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra, and Ramesh Powar.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday named Pragyan Ojha as chairman of the men's selection committee, while Ramesh Powar was appointed as a new member of the panel.

In an official release, the BCCI said the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjape, unanimously recommended Powar's appointment after screening and interviewing applicants at the board's headquarters.

Ojha will chair the five-member committee based on seniority in terms of Test appearances. The panel also comprises Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh and Ajay Ratra.

Powar represented India in two Tests and 31 ODIs. He has since coached the India women's team, Mumbai and Gujarat, and served as bowling coach at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. During his stint as India women's head coach, the team won the Asia Cup and a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games.

The BCCI also acknowledged Ajit Agarkar's contribution as chairman, a role he assumed in July 2023. During his tenure, India won three ICC trophies, two Asia Cup titles and back-to-back Asian Games gold medals.

The announcement confirms the composition of the men's selection committee following Agarkar's departure.
