Standing approximately 50 metres tall and weighing around 420 tonnes at lift-off, the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) is one of Isro's key launch vehicles. GSLV-F18 is a three-stage rocket that uses solid, liquid and cryogenic propulsion systems to propel its payload into space. Tonight's mission will mark the 20th flight of the GSLV.
Isro is preparing to launch its GSLV-F18 rocket at 11:51 pm IST tonight from the Second Launch Pad at Sriharikota.
Its payload, NVS-03, is the third satellite in India's next-generation navigation satellite series, designed to strengthen NavIC, the country's independent regional navigation system.
The mission will help ensure continuity of navigation services for users across India and beyond.
