Nearly three-fourths of people are satisfied with the Yogi Adityanath government's handling of law and order in Uttar Pradesh, while employment had the lowest satisfaction level, at just over 58%, according to a News18 mega UP survey. According to the survey, 52.6% of respondents said they were "very satisfied" with law and order, while another 21.4% were somewhat satisfied. In contrast, 8.8% were somewhat dissatisfied and an equal share very dissatisfied. Employment remains biggest concern Employment received the lowest satisfaction rating among the seven parameters assessed. While 32.7% of respondents were very satisfied with the employment situation and 25.6% somewhat satisfied, 14.8% were very dissatisfied and 11.8% somewhat dissatisfied. The survey analysis noted that employment could emerge as a significant electoral issue as it was rated the second-most important voting issue and was particularly important among younger voters. Positive ratings Infrastructure, including electricity, roads and water, received a combined satisfaction rating of 68.7%. This included 45% who were very satisfied and 23.7% who were somewhat satisfied. Delivery of welfare schemes received a combined satisfaction rating of 66.2%, while 65.7% expressed satisfaction with healthcare infrastructure. Education infrastructure received a relatively lower combined satisfaction rating of 63.9%, with 37.3% very satisfied and 26.6% somewhat satisfied. On corruption, 63.6% of respondents expressed satisfaction, including 42.6% who were very satisfied. However, 14.2% said they were very dissatisfied with the government's performance on this parameter. Law and order divides voters The survey analysis found that BJP-led NDA supporters were overwhelmingly positive about the government's performance across the parameters, while opposition voters were broadly dissatisfied. Satisfaction with law and order stood at 89.6% among BJP-NDA supporters, compared with around 43% among supporters of the SP-Congress and the BSP. Even among BJP-NDA supporters, employment received the lowest satisfaction rating, highlighting the potential electoral significance of jobs despite the government's stronger ratings on other governance measures. Regional and occupational differences Regionally, Rohilkhand recorded the strongest performance ratings, while Bundelkhand and North-East Uttar Pradesh registered lower scores, particularly on employment, education and corruption. West Uttar Pradesh recorded high scores overall, though healthcare, welfare delivery and corruption remained areas of relatively weaker performance. In East Uttar Pradesh, concerns were more concentrated around employment and the economy. Older and better-educated respondents tended to be more positive about governance, while unemployed people, landless respondents and unskilled workers reported lower satisfaction. Farmers were among the more positive groups across most parameters. The survey assessed public opinion on the state government's performance across governance and development indicators, alongside issues including student protests and the Ram Mandir donations controversy. It covered 30,925 respondents aged 18 and above across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh, with rural and urban areas represented in proportion to district populations.
