Union Minister Pralhad Joshi asked why the Congress government is not investigating Yathindra Siddaramaiah’s statement about a conspiracy against his father. "The Congress government in the State is trying to divert attention away from the controversy surrounding the sting operation against some of its leaders," Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said in Hubballi on Sunday.
"I do not understand why the Congress government is attempting to divert public attention away from the so-called sting operation, rather than investigating the alleged political conspiracy against the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah," he said.
"The statement made by Minister Yatindra Siddaramaiah about a conspiracy against his father is a serious charge. The Congress government should find out who hatched that conspiracy. Why is the Congress government not taking action against this?" he said.
"My personal opinion is that instead of taking action on this issue, an attempt is being made to bring other issues to the fore and divert the course of the discussion on sting operation," he said. He said that differences between Congress leaders are driving such efforts.
He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is making frequent foreign visits but, the details about them are not being made public.
"Why details regarding his foreign destinations and meetings abroad are kept a secret," he asked and said that other public figures share such updates transparently.
Mann Ki Baat
Later, he watched the 139th episode of Prime Minister's Mann Ki Baat at the Jagadguru Gurusiddeshwara Kalyan Mantap in Ole Math.
He said that the program brought national attention to Kalaburagi's famous red gram being exported to the Maldives. The Prime Minister has also praised a Karnataka-based bamboo start-up creating eco-friendly packaging from bamboo and agricultural waste, he said.
