Congress MP Phulo Devi Netam said on Friday that Rahul Gandhi’s campaign against vote theft relies on evidence. She called for transparency in the electoral process. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Phulo Devi Netam on Friday said Rahul Gandhi's campaign against alleged "vote theft" is based on evidence and called for transparency and accountability in the electoral process. Addressing reporters here, Netam, who is the observer for Jharkhand under the Congress' 'Save Vote, Save Nation' campaign, raised concerns over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls and questioned the role of the Chief Election Commissioner. "Rahul Gandhi launched the 'Save Vote, Save Nation' campaign to protect democracy and citizens' voting rights. Our leader had presented evidence-backed concerns about alleged vote theft that required serious consideration and accountability," Netam said. She said the Congress had been organising meetings, press conferences and public awareness programmes at the block, district and state levels to inform people about alleged irregularities in electoral rolls and concerns regarding the electoral process. The campaign aims to bring these allegations before the public while maintaining people's confidence in democratic institutions, she added. Netam also announced that a rally would be held at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on November 1 as part of the campaign. "Leaders from various constituent parties of the INDIA bloc are expected to participate, presenting a united opposition front on the issue of electoral transparency and voting rights," she said. Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh said a recent meeting of INDIA bloc leaders in Delhi had discussed a detailed strategy for the campaign, following which programmes were being organised across the country. "Congress leaders and workers from Jharkhand would also participate in the November 1 rally," he said
