The team requests President Murmu to act on recommendation of former Keralam Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar for removal of State Public Service Commission Chairman M.R. Baiju and its members

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation on Thursday (November 5, 2026) met President Droupadi Murmu and requested her to act on the recommendation of former Keralam Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar for the removal of State Public Service Commission Chairman M.R. Baiju and its members over alleged irregularities.

The delegation led by Rajya Sabha member (nominated) C. Sadanandan Master included State BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Rajya Sabha member (nominated) P.T. Usha.

"We understand that the Governor of Keralam has already submitted a recommendation to Your Excellency seeking the removal of Keralam PSC Chairman M.R. Baiju and members of the Commission, following complaints and investigative findings concerning recruitment irregularities," said the memorandum submitted by the delegation to the President.

'Double standards'

At a press conference, Mr. Chandrasekhar accused the Congress and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi of raising "manufactured issues" related to the youth, while not addressing their plight in Keralam. "It reflects hypocrisy and double standards on the part of the Congress, much like the SIR [Special Intensive Revision] issue, where they take one position in Delhi against the SIR but take another position in Keralam in favour of it," he said.

The BJP leader said: "This is an important issue that impacts the future of many Malayali youth who have been sitting in protest and on strike for the last several months. Despite appearing for examinations and securing ranks, they have been denied jobs because of the maladministration of the PSC and what we believe is its complete capture by vested interests such as the SFI, which is part of the CPI(M) ecosystem."

"PSC rank holders have been protesting outside the Secretariat for months, with the full knowledge of the Congress Chief Minister," claimed Mr. Chandrasekhar.
