Kerala BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Thursday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to create anarchy in India.

In a Facebook post, Chandrasekhar said that if Rahul Gandhi was interested in creating anarchy, he should go to Bangladesh. "His dream would never materialise in India," he asserted, adding that the country's democracy was protected by the BJP and 140 crore Indians.

Chandrasekhar further claimed that the Congress could no longer win the confidence of the people and that voters would not support the party on the basis of its governance in Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala.

Congress leaders in Delhi responded by saying the BJP had been rattled after Rahul Gandhi repeatedly challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to a debate on who was anti-national. Reiterating the challenge at a rally in Punjab on Wednesday, the Leader of the Opposition said Modi would not be able to withstand the debate even for five minutes and that it would become clear who was anti-national and who was selling the interests of the country and its people.

Ever since the challenge was issued, BJP leaders across the country have been holding press conferences and using social media to target Rahul Gandhi. The party is also organising "Save Democracy" rallies in various states in the wake of India Alliance's recent massive show of strength at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
