AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi responded to the BJP’s "Anti-India Paglu" jibe at Rahul Gandhi by calling himself "Biwi Paglu". On Thursday, Owaisi said, "I am Biwi Paglu. I have a wife and children. If you want to live a peaceful life, trust me." He used this witty remark instead.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has responded to the BJP's "Anti-India Paglu" jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, putting his own spin on the phrase by calling himself "Biwi Paglu". When asked about the BJP's use of the term "Paglu" for Rahul Gandhi, Owaisi responded with a tongue-in-cheek remark, calling himself "Biwi Paglu" and saying he has a wife and children. "I am Biwi Paglu. I have a wife and children. If you want to live a peaceful life, trust me," Owaisi said. #WATCH | Hyderabad, Telangana: On his 'biwi paglu' statement, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi says, "I am 'Biwi Paglu'. I have a wife and children.

If you want to lead a peaceful life, trust my words..." https://t.co/HQ89uTAhG2 -- ANI (@ANI) November 4, 2026 Elaborating on his remark, the AIMIM chief said, "We are wife Paglu. Just don't talk to him like that. Look, we have wives at home, MashaAllah, we have children; we are wife Paglu. We are telling you too, remember, if you want to live a peaceful life, then believe what we say." Why did Owaisi call himself 'Biwi Paglu'? Owaisi's remark traces back to a speech he delivered at a rally in Uttar Pradesh in the first week of October, ahead of the state Assembly elections. The AIMIM chief had shared a clip from the speech on Instagram, in which he took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.

"We proudly say that our wives are crazy. We don't make Uttar Pradesh and the country crazy like Baba (CM Yogi), Modi (PM Modi) and Akhilesh (SP president)," Owaisi had said. He had also remarked, "Yes, his wife is crazy, but he doesn't make the public crazy." The comments drew attention in political circles, with the BJP subsequently using the "Paglu" phrase to target Rahul Gandhi, describing him as "Anti-India Paglu". Asked about the BJP's remark on Thursday, Owaisi responded by turning the phrase into a reference to his own family life, giving the political exchange another twist.
