A 22-year-old woman killed her father in Surat on October 31 after he threw her mobile phone on the floor. Kajal attacked Rameshsinh Rajput with a pressure cooker lid and a knife during a heated argument. Amroli police arrested the daughter, who is now in judicial custody for the murder.
A heated argument over a mobile phone turned fatal in Gujarat's Surat, where a 22-year-old woman allegedly killed her father by attacking him with a pressure cooker lid and a knife after he threw her phone on the floor. The woman, identified as Kajal alias Vikram, has been arrested by the Amroli police in connection with the murder.
The incident took place around 10.30 pm on October 31. The victim, Rameshsinh Kailashsinh Rajput, was at home with his wife Manjuben and their youngest daughter when an argument broke out between him and Kajal over a domestic matter.
According to the information available, the disagreement initially began as a minor exchange but soon escalated. During the argument, Rameshsinh allegedly reprimanded Kajal over household work and snatched her mobile phone before throwing it on the floor.
Angered by her father's action, Kajal allegedly picked up a pressure cooker lid and attacked him repeatedly on the head. She then used a knife to stab him in the abdomen, leaving him seriously injured and bleeding.
Despite his injuries, Rameshsinh managed to run towards the outside platform of the house but collapsed a short distance away. He died following the attack.
POLICE ARREST ACCUSED DAUGHTER
Following the incident, the family alerted the 108 ambulance service. Medical staff reached the spot and examined Rameshsinh, but he had already succumbed to his injuries.
His wife, Manjuben, subsequently lodged a murder complaint against her daughter at the Amroli police station. Acting on the complaint, police arrested Kajal and registered a murder case against her. She is currently in judicial custody.
WHAT POLICE SAID
Surat Police ACP Parth Chovatia said the incident took place at Kosad Awas H-5 under the Amroli police station limits on October 31.
According to the ACP, an argument broke out between the father and daughter over household work after Rameshsinh reprimanded Kajal. She allegedly lost her temper, first attacking him with a non-stick pan before assaulting him with a kitchen knife.
Chovatia said the father was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him dead. The accused, Kajal, has been arrested and is currently in judicial custody.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the murder and the sequence of events inside the house.
The incident has shocked residents of the Kosad Awas area, with a domestic disagreement escalating into a fatal attack in which a father lost his life and his daughter was arrested on murder charges.
