Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday hit back at American singer Mary Millben after she alleged that the party was being funded by US donors opposed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sharing a news report about Millben’s remarks on X, Dipke questioned why Modi was seeking American support to discredit his critics in India.
“Why is Modi seeking the support of Americans to discredit his own countrymen?” Dipke wrote.
“Who gave foreign nationals the right to interfere in India’s internal affairs? We are more than capable of dealing with our own issues. We don’t need outsiders interfering in our country’s affairs,” he added.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Millben addressed young Indians, alleging that Dipke and the CJP were receiving funding from US donors opposed to Modi.
“To all the beautiful young patriots in India: This is not the time to be silent. @abhijeet_dipke and the @Cockroachisback are being funded by donors in the U.S. who are against Prime Minister @NarendraModi and your future under his leadership,” she wrote.
Millben also said Modi, who has served as prime minister for three consecutive terms, would not “bow to disruptive forces” from the US.
Calling for a counter-movement against the CJP, she urged young Indians to organise and peacefully protest against the party.
“It is time for a new voice in #India, born, raised, educated on the soil of India, to RISE UP, organize, and peacefully protest the disruptive spirit of the Cockroach Party. There should always be a counter movement to uphold democracy and freedom. Rise up, young patriots! Rise up!” she added.
This has come amid the arrest of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who have now been sent to five days judicial custody. Meanwhile, Dipke has called for a fress protest in Delhi's Connaught Place on October 16.
