Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar alleged that an industrialist used Meta AI glasses to conduct a sting operation on him. Shivakumar said, "I can read faces," after noticing the visitor’s suspicious behavior. He claimed the same person also targeted Kerala leader VD Satheesan during a separate business meeting.

In a big revelation, Karnataka chief minister DK Shivakumar has alleged that he and Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan were targeted in an attempted sting operation involving Meta smart glasses.

In an interview with Asianet Suvarna News, Shivakumar said that he was targeted by an industrialist visitor who came to meet him wearing Meta AI glasses.

The Karnataka chief minister, who made the allegations during an interview with Kannada broadcaster Asianet Suvarna News, claimed that an industrialist's unusual conduct during a meeting with him prompted suspicions of a covert recording operation. He further alleged that the visitor had worn the same smart glasses while meeting Satheesan, another Congress leader.

Shivakumar's account has added a new dimension to the controversy over purported sting-operation videos linked to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. However, Shivakumar has not publicly identified the industrialist or disclosed evidence establishing that a recording was made.

Recounting the alleged attempt, DKS said an industrialist had secured an appointment through officials and initially discussed business with him. The visitor, however, subsequently shifted the conversation towards politics, speaking about booth-level strategies and political developments.

DKS said the change in conversation, along with the glasses the visitor wore, made him suspicious. "I asked my officials to conduct a small enquiry on the background of the industrialist," DKS said.

According to the Karnataka CM, the information he received suggested that the visitor had worn the same Meta glasses during a meeting with Kerala CM VD Satheesan, but not while meeting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and a Union minister.
