Will schools remain closed on November 3?
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its special coastal weather bulletin issued on November 2, said Cyclone Murasu had intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. It forecast that the storm would cross the south Andhra Pradesh coast between Nellore and Narsapur, close to Ongole, around midnight on November 2 or in the early hours of November 3. The IMD forecast wind speeds of 100–110 kmph, with gusts reaching 120 kmph.
In view of the expected landfall and adverse weather, district administrations may announce further school closures for November 3.
