Puducherry Congress chief V. Vaithilingam on Thursday asked the government to provide cyclone-relief to people in Yanam without delay. He also criticised the AINRC-BJP government over rising cybercrimes and poor law and order. The MP said, “There is no security even for government funds deposited in banks,” while promising new ambulances.

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and chief of Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee V. Vaithilingam on Thursday requested the government to provide relief to cyclone-affected people in Yanam without any delay.

He criticised the AINRC-BJP government over the handling of the law and order situation. Several murders were reported in Puducherry during the recent days.

Indirectly referring to the complaint preferred by the management of the Government Dental College about the loss of money from its account in HDFC bank, the MP said cybercrimes have increased in Puducherry. “There is no security even for government funds deposited in banks. Several people have lost money due to cybercrimes in the territory,” he said.

The MP said he would facilitate procurement of an ambulance with all advanced facilities at a cost of ₹70 lakh under Corporate Social Responsibility programme for the Puducherry government.
