Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday said the protest against the SIR and chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar would continue until the country gets an independent and impartial electoral system.

Dipke was addressing a protest meeting organised as part of the CJP's "Jantar Mantar at Kochi" campaign at Rajendra Maidan on Saturday.

"A change in government could only come through the electoral system. Why is Gyanesh Kumar so important to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he is waging a war against the youth of his own country? Why is the government labelling the protesting youths as Pakistan-, America- and Soros-backed?" Dipke said.

Dipke accused Modi of acting at the behest of US President Donald Trump. He alleged that Modi had compromised India's interests to protect his image and avoid being humiliated by Trump on the global stage.

"Who is selling the interests of this nation? It is you, not the CJP and not the cockroaches," he said.

Actor and activist Prakash Raj led a protest march from Marine Drive to Rajendra Maidan, with participants shouting slogans demanding Gyanesh's resignation and the cancellation of SIR.
