Former Uttar Pradesh minister and Samajwadi Party leader Mohd. Azam Khan has moved the Supreme Court against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), alleging that he was taken into custody just 40 minutes after being released from jail on October 29 in the Dual PAN Card case.

Khan has also challenged the November 1 order of the Special Court that remanded him to judicial custody. Seeking interim relief, he has asked the Supreme Court to order his release from custody.

The plea seeks the quashing of both the ED’s arrest and the subsequent judicial custody remand order.

On October 29, the High Court had granted bail to Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan in the Dual PAN Card case.
