ന്യൂഡൽഹിയിൽ നടന്ന ചടങ്ങിൽ ബാർ കൗൺസിൽ ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ആന്ധ്രാപ്രദേശ് അംഗമായി കെ. ചിദംബരം ചുമതലയേറ്റു. അഭിഭാഷകർക്ക് ഡൽഹിയിലേതുപോലെ രാജ്യവ്യാപകമായി ഇൻഷുറൻസ്, ക്ഷേമ പദ്ധതികൾ ലഭ്യമാക്കണമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. അഭിഭാഷകരുടെ സാമൂഹിക സുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കാൻ സമഗ്രമായ ചട്ടക്കൂട് വേണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ബി.സി.ഐ ചെയർമാനോട് അഭ്യർത്ഥിച്ചു.
K. Chidambaram took charge as the Member of the Bar Council of India (BCI) representing Andhra Pradesh in the presence of BCI Chairman and Rajya Sabha member Manan Kumar Mishra, A.P. Bar Council Chairman Yalamanjula Balaji and others in New Delhi on Saturday.
On the occasion, Mr. Balaji and Mr. Chidambaram urged the BCI Chairman to extend advocates' welfare and insurance benefits to all States on the lines of the schemes available to advocates in Delhi.
They stressed the need for a comprehensive framework to ensure social security for advocates across the country and called for coordinated action by the BCI and State governments.
Mr. Mishra assured them that the matter would be considered and underscored the importance of strengthening advocates' welfare schemes and ensuring their social security.
