Lumax Auto Technologies reported a 57.8% rise in quarterly profit and 34.5% revenue growth despite higher material costs

Lumax Auto Technologies' consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders increased from ₹66.85 crore in July-September 2025 to ₹105.51 crore in July-September 2026, a rise of 57.8 per cent, while revenue from operations grew from ₹1,156.36 crore to ₹1,555.51 crore, an increase of 34.5 per cent, despite material costs rising faster than sales.

The automotive component maker is also investing ₹150 crore in a new mechatronics plant at Manesar, Haryana, to manufacture electronic components, including body control modules that manage vehicle electrical functions, for leading automakers. The facility is expected to generate ₹500 crore in annual turnover at peak capacity, according to its October 24 regulatory filing.

The investment will expand Lumax's automotive electronics business as automakers increase electronic content in vehicles. Funded through debt and internal accruals, the plant will be commissioned in two phases beginning in the third quarter of FY28.

At peak capacity, the projected ₹500-crore annual turnover would be equivalent to 10.3 per cent of Lumax's FY26 consolidated revenue of ₹4,870.33 crore. The company has not disclosed when the facility will reach peak turnover or its expected returns.

Standalone net profit increased from ₹61.08 crore to ₹89 crore, a rise of 45.7 per cent, while revenue grew from ₹872.81 crore to ₹1,204.70 crore, an increase of 38 per cent.

Material costs rose from ₹656.56 crore to ₹940.40 crore, up 43.2 per cent, while employee expenses increased from ₹150.72 crore to ₹191.39 crore, up 27 per cent. Finance costs edged down from ₹24.49 crore to ₹24.24 crore.

Half-year earnings reinforce growth

For April-September 2026, consolidated profit attributable to shareholders increased from ₹108.27 crore to ₹192.15 crore, a rise of 77.5 per cent, while revenue grew from ₹2,182.74 crore to ₹2,919.12 crore, up 33.7 per cent. Profit before tax increased from ₹178.57 crore to ₹286.29 crore, a rise of 60.3 per cent.

The stronger earnings provide a foundation for Lumax's electronics expansion, although customer orders, capacity utilisation and financing costs will determine the new plant's contribution to profitability..
