Anthropic PBC plans to file publicly for an initial public offering Monday at 9 a.m. in New York. The maker of Claude expects to match or beat the size of SpaceX’s IPO. Many firms delayed listings, but Anthropic moves ahead despite rising public scrutiny over AI safety and hacking incidents.

Anthropic PBC is planning to file publicly for an initial public offering Monday at around 9 a.m. in New York, according to people familiar with the matter, as the artificial intelligence model maker nears a potentially record-breaking debut.

The firm behind Claude is set to begin formally marketing for its initial public offering as soon as the week of Nov. 9, Bloomberg News has reported. The company expects to match or beat the size of SpaceX’s IPO, people familiar with the matter have said.

The filing timing was reported earlier by Fox Business. Representatives for Anthropic didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

Anthropic’s planned IPO is one of the few prospective deals to power ahead, and defy a string of delays and postponements in the market for new listings globally. Data center operator AirTrunk delayed the IPO of a real estate investment trust in Singapore until next year, days after a planned IPO for Australian data center company Firmus collapsed.

Anthropic and its rival OpenAI are facing mounting public scrutiny over AI safety after a string of high-profile hacking incidents by rogue agents, ramping up concern about the potential impact on Anthropic’s market debut.
