Rakhi Sawant faces a non-bailable warrant in a 2010 case linked to Rakhi Ka Insaaf, after a Jhansi court directed police to arrest her for repeated non-appearances.

Rakhi Sawant has faced a non-bailable arrest warrant in a case that dates back to 2010. The court issued the warrant against the actress after she repeatedly failed to appear before it, according to government counsel Mridul Kant Srivastava. What was the case that led to the non-bailable warrant against the actress?

PTI has reported that Laxman Ahirwar, a resident of the Hansari Prem Nagar area in Jhansi, had allegedly died by suicide on November 10, 2010. The report stated that the reason behind the person's alleged suicide was the humiliation he faced on the television show Rakhi Ka Insaaf, hosted by Rakhi Sawant.

Following Laxman's tragic demise, his mother, Savitri, lodged a complaint at the Prem Nagar police station. In the complaint, Laxman's mother alleged that Rakhi used insulting, derogatory and objectionable language against her son during an episode that aired in October 2010. Rakhi allegedly called Ahirwar "naamard" (impotent).

Ahirwar died on November 10, 2010, after returning home. His family alleged that the public humiliation had caused him severe distress and contributed to his death. However, an initial police statement reported that he had died after falling seriously ill, rather than by suicide. Early reports, therefore, contained differing accounts of the circumstances.

On Friday, October 16, the warrant was issued against Sawant after she failed to appear before the court.

According to PTI, the court has directed the police to arrest Rakhi Sawant and bring her before it by December 1. The district counsel said the next hearing is also set for December 1.

Why did Laxman go on Rakhi Ka Insaaf?

Laxman Ahirwar and his wife, Anita, residents of Rajgarh, appeared on the show to address issues in their marriage. Anita had reportedly returned to her parents' home following differences with her husband, and their marital discord was subsequently discussed in an episode aired in October 2010.
