Mahesh Babu's son, Gautam Ghattamaneni, often catches headlines for his harsh reviews of films, and now he has shared his verdict on yet another film. This time, Gautam has reviewed Nani and Raghav Juyal-starrer The Paradise and has given it just one star. Gautam is known for his harsh reviews, and he has even given several of his father Mahesh Babu's films only one or two stars.
In his Letterboxd review, Gautam wrote, "I liked the cinematography and the acting in emotional scenes. I liked nothing else. Very disappointing. Also the editing was just atrocious." Gautam's Letterboxd profile went viral recently when several of his reviews caught the attention of social media users. Back then, he addressed the sudden attention with a cheeky caption on his account, writing, "Welcome to this apparently national news worthy page. I will try to live up to that," with sobbing and V-sign emojis.
About The Paradise
The film, which released in theatres on September 24, received mixed responses from audiences. Its gritty setting, Nani's physical transformation and the scale on which the story was mounted had kept it in conversation ahead of its release. The Paradise marks another collaboration between Nani and filmmaker Srikanth Odela after Dasara.
This time, the actor plays Jadal in a story rooted in 1980s Secunderabad. The film unfolds in a slum called Paradise and centres on a marginalised nomadic community known as the Savaari.
According to the film's premise, members of the community continue to live without legal recognition, voting rights or citizenship despite India having gained independence. They are treated as outsiders by the system, pushed to the margins and branded as criminals.
