The CBFC asked makers to remove a shot showing blood on the Indian map in the film Udta Teer. Releasing on October 23, 2026, the spy-comedy also got orders to add anti-smoking and anti-liquor disclaimers. The team made these changes to ensure the film is ready for its big release.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s upcoming film, Udta Teer, is releasing on October 23, 2026, in theatres. The Karan Johar-produced spy-comedy grabbed everyone’s eyeballs due to its quirky plot, funny moments and casting. Udta Teer was passed with a U/A 13+ certificate by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). However, the makers were requested to make a major modification in the final edit of the film just a couple of days before its release. The CBFC asked the makers to remove the shot showing blood on the Indian map in Udta Teer.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers have now removed the blood on the Indian map shot from Udta Teer after CBFC’s order. To cover up the cut, they have extended the preceding shot. Apart from that, the makers were also asked to add the anti-smoking disclaimer, ‘Smoking Kills’, in five scenes.
An anti-liquor disclaimer was also asked to be added in a scene of alcohol consumption. Notably, there are no changes in the dialogues or in action scenes. After the required modifications, the length of Udta Teer is 137.41 minutes. It means the Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan starrer is 2 hours, 17 minutes and 31 seconds long.
Udta Teer has been creating a solid buzz among the masses since its trailer release. It is indeed a special film for many reasons, and one of them is the late actor Mukul Dev. It will mark his last appearance on the big screen. For the unversed, Mukul passed away in May 2025.
Coming back to Udta Teer, the film also stars Gulshan Grover, Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Brijendra Kala, Suhail Nayyar, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Parul Gulati, Ragubir Yadav and Smita Tambe in pivotal roles. Written and directed by Akash A Kaushik, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions along with Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain’s Sikhya Entertainment.
Udta Teer is clashing with two other Hindi films, like Luv Ranjan’s Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar and Gurmeet Choudhary-Isha Malviya’s Tum Mere Ho, at the box office. Udta Teer marks Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana’s second collaboration after Mudassar Aziz’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. The film was a moderate success at the box office. It also starred Rakul Preet Singh and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles. Stay tuned for more updates!
