Shooters surveyed three other Bollywood actors before targeting Tiger Shroff in Mumbai. Sources said the accused checked their residences and security but changed plans due to tight protection. The Mumbai Crime Branch noted, “Tiger Shroff was not the shooters’ original target.” Police brought three suspects from Kota for further interrogation.
Sources say the accused in the Tiger Shroff firing case surveyed three other Bollywood actors and their security arrangements before allegedly changing targets.
The accused in the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai had allegedly conducted reconnaissance of three other prominent Bollywood actors before deciding to target Shroff, sources said. The accused reportedly surveyed the actors’ residences, security arrangements and movements before abandoning their plans because of stringent security measures.
According to the sources, the accused assessed the security setups of all three celebrities but subsequently changed their plans after finding it difficult to approach them. They allegedly decided to target Shroff after evaluating his security arrangements and movements.
Mumbai Police were investigating the locations visited by the accused before the firing incident.
The latest disclosures are in line with the Mumbai Crime Branch’s earlier statement that Shroff was not the shooters’ original target.
According to the Crime Branch, the three accused had initially planned to target another prominent Bollywood celebrity but could not reach the individual because of tight security.
“Tiger Shroff was not the shooters’ original target. The three shooters were targeting a prominent Bollywood celebrity. However, the celebrity’s security was so tight that the shooters were unable to target them," the Mumbai Crime Branch said, according to news agency ANI.
The Crime Branch further alleged that the accused subsequently turned their attention towards Shroff, believing he would be an easier target.
Three Accused Brought To Mumbai For Interrogation
On Wednesday, the three key accused arrested in connection with the firing incident were brought to Mumbai from Kota in Rajasthan. After undergoing a medical examination, they were taken to the Anti-Extortion Cell office for interrogation.
Speaking to ANI, lawyer Ajinkya Mirgal Madhukar, who is representing the accused, said the police convoy had travelled directly from Rajasthan for the medical examination before the suspects were taken for questioning.
“The accused were brought to the Anti-Extortion Cell office, and before this, the convoy from Rajasthan went straight for a medical checkup. Inquiry is going on, and in the morning, they will be presented before the court," the lawyer said.
The three accused, including Ritik alias Roshan from Begusarai in Bihar and Rehan from Sonipat in Haryana, were apprehended from a train in Kota on Monday.
A court had granted the accused 48-hour transit remand. Police had initially kept them overnight at the Railway Colony Police Station before bringing them to Mumbai on Wednesday.
