Ramayana Twitter Review: Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash's Film Leaves Internet Divided – Spectacular Or Artificial?

Ramayana Twitter Review: Nitesh Tiwari's much-awaited Ramayana, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, had it’s previews in US and India. The mythological epic has sparked contrasting reactions on social media, with early viewers sharing sharply divided opinions about the ambitious mythological spectacle. While several moviegoers have hailed it as a once-in-a-generation cinematic experience, some have expressed disappointment over its visual effects, performances and execution.

One of the more critical reactions for Ramayana came from a viewer who rated the Hindi version 3.5 out of 5 stars, describing it as an 'unenthusiastic, visually disappointing spectacle'. Questioning whether the reported Rs 4,000 crore budget was justified on screen, the viewer criticised the CGI, claiming that several sequences looked artificial and affected the viewing experience.

Ranbir Kapoor's portrayal of Lord Ram also came under scrutiny. The viewer felt his restrained dialogue delivery lacked the emotional intensity required for the character and even compared it unfavourably with Prabhas' performance in Adipurush. However, Yash received tremendous praise for his portrayal of Ravana. Calling him an absolute scene-stealer, the viewer said his screen presence overshadowed everyone around him. Arun Govil's brief appearance and the supporting cast also received appreciation.

Another viewer was considerably harsher, rating the film two stars and describing it as disappointing. According to the post, only around 30 minutes of the three-hour runtime were genuinely engaging, while the rest felt half-baked.

A glowing review rated Ramayana five out of five stars, calling it a once-in-a-generation cinematic spectacle and a celebration of India's mythology and culture. The viewer praised Ranbir's portrayal of Lord Ram for his divine grace and emotional depth, while describing Yash's Ravana as powerful and commanding.

Sai Pallavi's portrayal of Goddess Sita was also appreciated for its grace, while Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman received special mentions. Nitesh Tiwari's direction, cinematography, production design, costumes, background score and battle sequences were among the other highlights.
