Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and others, is shaping up to be one of the biggest cinematic ventures in Indian film history, with the two-part saga mounted on a scale comparable to major Hollywood productions. The visuals unveiled so far have offered audiences a glimpse into the epic's grand world. However, actor Faisal Malik, who essays Kumbhakarna in the film, believes there is still plenty left to be seen, teasing that the second instalment will have much more in store for viewers.
Faisal Malik talks about Ramayana
Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The two-part epic also brings together several acclaimed technicians from Hollywood to help realise its ambitious vision. Speaking about his role in the project, Faisal Malik told Variety India, "I obviously cannot get into the details at the moment. But the process that I have gone through for the part, and when it gave me a flashback of all the Hollywood BTS videos I have seen, I knew I was in very good hands and working on a landmark project."
The film's technical team includes DNEG, the visual effects studio known for its eight Academy Award wins, while Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are collaborating on the music. The production has also brought in action directors and stunt professionals from Hollywood to help execute its large-scale sequences. Talking about the same, Malik said, "The thrill of working with a new team and with geniuses from the West was so exciting. We had to go through a lot of prep, and now I want the audience to like it. I have never seen something like this happen in India. It was an out-of-this-world experience for me. You should wait and watch Part 2, there is so much more in store."
Ramayana: Part One is slated to arrive in theatres worldwide on November 5, 2026, with the sequel scheduled for a Diwali 2027 release. The two films are set to reach audiences across India in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
