Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has recorded an improvement in its box office performance over the third weekend, adding to its domestic collection ahead of the release of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial had witnessed a slowdown during its second week, but the latest figures indicate that the film continues to attract audiences.
Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Makes Solid Mark At The Box Office
According to Sacnilk, Jailer 2 collected Rs 9.35 crore on Saturday, followed by Rs 11.20 crore on Sunday. This takes its domestic box office collection to Rs 456.30 crore. Jailer 2 opened to an impressive response at the domestic box office. Its advance bookings began on October 10, five days before its theatrical release. The film collected Rs 59.70 crore net on its opening day.
The Rajinikanth-starrer maintained its run through the initial days and finished its first week with Rs 334.35 crore net in India. However, collections dropped during the second week, with the film adding Rs 95.55 crore to its domestic total. The third weekend has brought joy for the makers, with collections improving on both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday's reported Rs 11.20 crore collection was higher than the previous day's earnings, taking the film's domestic total to Rs 456.30 crore.
Ramayana To Bring Competition For Jailer 2
Jailer 2 has already emerged as the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2026, with Dhurandhar The Revenge occupying the top position. However, the Rajinikanth-starrer is set to face competition with the theatrical arrival of Ramayana on November 5.
Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial is among the most anticipated releases of the year.
Written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. Rajinikanth returns as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik reprising their roles. The sequel also features Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar and Jackie Shroff, who return as Mathew, Narasimha and Kamdev, respectively.
