As Diwali approaches, composer and music producer Sneha Khanwalkar is ready to add a generous dose of festive cheer to the celebrations with Puranpoli. Featuring Vijay Varma, Vikramaditya Motwane, Kratex, Ganesh Chandanshive and Sneha Khanwalkar creating an unexpected on-screen ensemble that adds to the track's quirky appeal. With its high-energy beats and celebratory mood, the video promises to be an invitation to let loose and groove as the festive season gets underway. The track is set to step beyond its cinematic setting with a standalone music video releasing on October 28. Originally part of filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane's segment in Lust Stories 3, the song is now gearing up to find a wider audience with its infectious energy and playful musical spirit.
Named after the much-loved Maharashtrian delicacy that has found a place in kitchens and celebrations across India, Puranpoli brings together music, culture and the joy of festive gatherings.
Speaking about the song and its festive release, Sneha Khanwalkar says, "Puranpoli has a very playful and infectious energy to it, and I love how the song brings together different musical influences with a sense of fun. With Diwali around the corner, it felt like the perfect time to take it beyond the film and bring it to audiences as a standalone music video. The idea is to get people to let go, enjoy themselves and simply dance. Having Vijay, Vikramaditya, Kratex and Ganesh Chandanshive come together for the video makes the experience even more special. I hope it becomes a part of everyone's festive celebrations."
In Vikramaditya Motwane's segment of Netflix's anthology Lust Stories 3, Radhika Apte and Konkona Sen Sharma play two friends stuck in marriages that have lost their spark. Inspired by the romance they watch in Korean dramas, they consider swapping husbands, played by Vijay Varma and Abhishek Banerjee, in a bid to bring excitement back into their lives. Amid this story of marriage, desire and friendship, Vijay's character, Hemant, grooves to the song Puranpoli at a party, which has caught viewers' attention, with fans asking the makers to release the track.
The music video releases on October 28.
