Dhanush expressed regret after many fans with tickets could not enter the OM pre-release event on November 6 in Chennai. The actor said, "I take full responsibility and express my regret." The film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, got postponed and is now scheduled to release on November 20.

Dhanush is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, OM. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the action thriller was scheduled to release last month; however, the makers postponed it to November 20. Ahead of the film's release, the makers held a grand pre-release event. On November 6, OM's audio launch event was held at the Sairam Engineering College in Chennai. Apart from Dhanush, the event saw other important members of team OM in attendance. However, many fans couldn't access the event despite having its tickets. Now, Dhanush has expressed regret and taken responsibility for the fiasco.

After the event concluded, Dhanush addressed the issue on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The actor wrote, "It pains me deeply that thousands of fans who had tickets in hand were unable to get in and had to turn back. I don’t want to investigate whose fault this was…" Check out his tweet below:

He further mentioned, "I take full responsibility and express my regret. It’s my responsibility to make sure this doesn’t happen again." Written and directed by Rajkumar, OM is an action thriller starring Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Naseeruddin Shah, Indrans and Sreeleela.

Earlier, in an interview with The Indian Express, filmmaker Rajkumar revealed how he convinced Mammootty to do OM. The director shared that the actor is Karthikeyan in the movie. He initially had doubts about the film; however, once Rajkumar clarified them, the actor agreed to play the character.

Spilling more beans about the movie, he added, "It is based on real life incidents converged into a fictional story. The project is getting bigger and bigger as we speak. I have been following Mammootty sir for seven months to narrate the Om story. One day he came to Chennai and invited me for the narration. I narrated for two hours, and after clearing his doubts, he immediately agreed to do the film."

Meanwhile, OM was set to clash with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. However, the clash was averted as the Dhanush-starrer got postponed to November 20. Are you excited about watching it in theatres? Let us know your thoughts @TimesNow on X. Keep following this space for more updates!
