Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte spoke against the misuse of AI-generated photos of actors. Keerthy said she does not appreciate how technology is used to create fake images that look real. Radhika shared her concerns about the trend, adding, "But this is frightening. 100 per cent, it is frightening."
There has been growing concern around AI-generated photos and videos of actors. Celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and others have fallen prey to deepfake clips on social media. Actors like Salman Khan, Jr NTR, Chiranjeevi, Mrunal Thakur, Sreeleela, and more have already spoken against misuse of artificial intelligence. Now, Akka actresses Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte have voiced their opinion as well. On Zoom Fan Club, Keerthy stated that she doesn't appreciate misuse of technology, while Radhika mentioned that it is frightening. According to Keerthy, artificial intelligence is both bane and boon for everyone.
In an exclusive interview with us, Keerthy expressed concern over misuse of AI. The actress admitted that it is getting 'worse'. "I really hate what is happening. Before this AI that we are talking about, you (could) see your morphed pictures. But those were okay because you can understand that these are morphed. The problem with AI is that it looks real... real to an extent that you go and look at it and (are) like 'Arey, ye kab tha?' And then you're like, 'This is not even me'."
The actress acknowledged that the technology has great sides to it, but she highlighted it can take a person down to another level. "I really don't appreciate that," added Keerthy.
After Keerthy, Radhika shared her thoughts on the same topic. The Akka actress recalled watching a stand-up comedian's video who questioned when do people know they're ageing. It is when they suddenly become scared of new technology, she quoted the stand-up comedian.
"Because when anybody says AI, I feel stressed only. I am sure there are positive sides. I am doing some work on the house, and my builder was like 'Put it in ChatGPT and then you'll know what it looks like'. And I was like, 'I have never seen ChatGPT. Can you please show me how do you do ChatGPT?' I am really behind," she shared.
Radhika stated that she would rather imagine and not rust her ability to come up with things creatively. The actress admitted that she has protected herself from such things. "But this is frightening. 100 per cent, it is frightening. But I don't know if there's anything I can do about it or we can do about it."
