Kartik Aaryan is reportedly set to headline Vivek Agnihotri's Operation Sindoor, marking their first collaboration. The film will explore the aftermath of the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack and India's retaliation.
Kartik Aaryan will reportedly play the lead role in Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming film Operation Sindoor. The project will mark the very first collaboration between the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor and The Kashmir Files director. Announced earlier this year, Operation Sindoor will chronicle the aftermath of the cowardly Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people were shot dead by terrorists in Baisaran Valley in Kashmir in April 2025.
Kartik Aaryan Teams Up With Vivek Agnihotri
According to Variety India, Kartik Aaryan has come on board to headline Operation Sindoor, which is expected to present a hard-hitting account of India's precise retaliation in the wake of the dastardly terror attack in Pahalgam. For Kartik, this will be his third real-life-based project after Kabir Khan's Chandu Champion and the upcoming Captain India, directed by Chak De India fame Shimit Amin.
Kartik bagged his first National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Chandu Champion, which is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first individual Paralympic gold medalist.
Now, with Operation Sindoor, Kartik is expected to deliver yet another strong performance. The film was first announced in March by Vivek Agnihotri, who described it as, "Rooted in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and backed by extensive, ground-level research in collaboration with multiple wings of the Indian Armed Forces, this is a story drawn from reality... not to create noise, but to confront it: with facts, with clarity, and the magic of cinema."
Operation Sindoor is based on Lt General KJS 'Tiny' Dhillon's book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India's Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan. It will be jointly backed by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Vivek's I Am Buddha Productions.
