Sometimes they’re spooky, sometimes they’re funny, and sometimes it’s a tribute.”
The actor also acknowledged the stars whose characters inspired the recreation, writing, “And who could possibly be more iconic than Mumma, Rishi uncle and Amrish sir!!” She concluded her caption by appreciating the people who helped put the look together, saying, “Got a little help from for the lewk.”
The post drew reactions from several members of the film fraternity, including Janhvi’s sister Khushi Kapoor, who commented, “You won Halloween” along with heart-eye emojis. Released in 1986, Nagina featured Sridevi as Rajni, a shape-shifting serpent woman, alongside Rishi Kapoor and Amrish Puri. The film, directed by Harmesh Malhotra, became widely remembered for Sridevi’s performance and its fantasy elements. Its song ‘Main Teri Dushman, Dushman Tu Mera’ also remains closely associated with the film.
Janhvi’s Halloween post brought the film back into conversation, combining a festive costume recreation with a tribute to her mother’s screen legacy. By bringing together the looks of three actors from the original film, the post also offered a nostalgic reminder of a much-loved chapter in Hindi cinema.
