Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2 crossed ₹444 crore at the box office, picking up momentum during its third weekend.
After a strong opening and a successful first week, Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 had started showing signs of a slowdown at the box office. The film’s second week saw a noticeable drop in collections, especially on weekdays. However, the action drama is now getting a fresh boost as it enters its third weekend.
The Tamil film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, has already emerged as one of the biggest releases of the year. Rajinikanth returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer.
According to the latest figures reported by Sacnilk, Jailer 2 earned ₹9.35 crore on Saturday, October 31. The film had collected ₹5.50 crore on Friday, October 30, making Saturday’s numbers a noticeable improvement. The rise in collections comes during the film’s third weekend, which coincides with a holiday period.
With its Saturday earnings, the film’s total India net collection has reached ₹444.75 crore. Jailer 2 opened in theatres on October 15, 2026, with impressive numbers. The film recorded ₹59.70 crore net on its opening day across 15,887 shows in India. Advance bookings had begun on October 10, five days before the film’s theatrical release. The action drama continued to perform well during its first week, even as collections experienced the usual weekday fluctuations.
By the end of its first seven days, Jailer 2 had earned ₹334.35 crore net in India. The second week, however, brought a considerable slowdown. The film collected ₹95.55 crore during that period, with weekday earnings taking a bigger hit.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 continues the story of Muthu, played by Rajinikanth. The story begins after the events of the first film. Muthu had killed Varman (Vinayakan), but before his death, he was warned that a group of idol smugglers would come after him. Dileep (Suraj Venjaramoodu) wants to find out who is trying to disturb his smuggling business. Meanwhile, Muthu’s family still doesn’t know that he killed his own son Arjun (Vasanth Ravi) to protect them. Muthu is now trying to live a normal life and works as a supermarket supervisor. But his past soon catches up with him, and new problems begin.
