Leave India Notice Could Affect Imran Khan's Comeback Film
Imran Khan's much-awaited return to films may face another delay after the actor received a notice asking him to leave India by October 28. According to a latest report, the development has affected plans for his upcoming Netflix film, Adhure Hum Adhure Tum. The romantic comedy was expected to release on December 18, but the makers are reportedly considering postponing it. The film marks Imran's return as a leading actor after nearly a decade away from the big screen.
Imran Khan's Comeback May Be Delayed
According to Mid-Day, the makers of Adhure Hum Adhure Tum are reconsidering the film's release plans following the notice issued to Imran Khan. The promotional campaign, which was expected to begin after Diwali, has been put on hold until there is more clarity about the actor's situation.
The report added that the team does not want to begin promotions without knowing how the situation will develop. However, neither Netflix nor the filmmakers have officially announced a change in the release schedule.
The film has already faced uncertainty over its release. Earlier this year, it was reported that the project was missing from Netflix India's announced slate because of scheduling and production-related issues. Imran later confirmed that the film was in post-production and expected to arrive towards the end of 2026.

Why Did Imran Get Deportation Notice?
Imran Khan received the notice on October 15 from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and Mumbai Police, directing him to leave India by October 28. The order stated that he had allegedly violated provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. It also warned that failure to comply could lead to prosecution under the relevant sections of the law.
The development followed Imran's participation in a protest at Mumbai's August Kranti Maidan on October 10. The demonstration called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar amid concerns over the revision of electoral rolls. Imran attended the gathering with his partner Lekha Washington, and his cousin Zayn Marie Khan. Police detained them during the protest, and they were released later that evening.
Imran is a US citizen and reportedly holds an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. However, the actor is preparing to challenge the order in court.
