Godzilla Minus Zero will likely delay its November 6 India release due to Ramayana’s dominance in IMAX theatres. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial, arriving November 5, is the top choice for screens across the country. Consequently, the Hollywood thriller faces limited showtimes, forcing the team to consider moving its release date.

Indian theatres are preparing for the grand release of Ranbir Kapoor and Yash's Ramayana. Ahead of Diwali 2026, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial will arrive on the big screen, including IMAX, in the country. While Ramayana is the big release from Bollywood next week, Hollywood brings Godzilla Minus Zero. The creature adventure is supposed to release in India a day after Ramayana, that is, November 6. Both movies are made for IMAX viewing. However, one of them will struggle in India. Theatres with IMAX screens in the country have made their choice.

According to reports, Godzilla Minus Zero's release in India might undergo a change. Ramayana is said to be the top choice for Indian theatres for IMAX screens. Due to the lack of IMAX shows and the number of screens, Godzilla Minus Zero is expected to move its release in India to a later date. The Indian marketing team for the adventure film is yet to respond to the speculation.

As per an earlier Bollywood Hungama report, a source had said that, like Ramayana, Godzilla Minus Zero is also an IMAX release. Since the former is a local film, it is expected to have far greater demand. This meant Godzilla Minus Zero would get limited showcasing in IMAX properties. The Hollywood thriller was likely to get just one show in IMAX per day, while the remaining shows would be allotted to Ramayana.

Godzilla Minus Zero stars Kamiki Ryunosuke and Hamabe Minami in the lead roles. It marks the first time a Japanese feature has been shot for IMAX screens. It is the 38th film in the Godzilla franchise and the 34th produced by the Japanese entertainment company Toho, which is the original creator of the franchise. The film will release in Japan on November 3, whereas the rest of the countries are preparing for a November 6 arrival.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta and many more. The film is releasing in 2D, 3D, IMAX 3D, 4DX 3D, and 3D Screen X on November 5 in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and English.
