Bhumi Pednekar wore a custom Punit Balana teal saree for the festive season. The outfit featured Banarasi crushed tissue silk with chandi tilla work. She paired the look with statement pieces from Amrapali Jewels. Bhumi said, "My most favourite time of the year," as she started the celebrations in style.
Consider this your cue to give the usual festive colour palette a break
If your festive wardrobe is looking a little too red, gold and predictable, Bhumi Pednekar has a colour suggestion for you: teal. The actor is getting into the festive spirit in a custom Punit Balana saree that makes a case for doing things a little differently (and boldly) this season. Her caption says it all: "My most favourite time of the year." And judging by this look, she is starting it on a rather stylish note.
The saree stands out for its deep teal shade, gold-toned detailing and contrasting fuchsia border. Crafted in Banarasi crushed tissue silk, it has a distinctive, crinkled texture and we love how the the pink edging brings a sharper pop of colour to the look. And the highlight is certainly the ornate hand-worked front pallu with chand tilla work in shades of red and pink.
The blouse is certainly a unique addition to our repertoire of festive designs. Hand-embroidered with chandi tilla work, it carries the metallic detailing into the upper half of the ensemble. The halter neckline, especially in pink, keeps things modern. Then come the jewels. Pednekar has teamed the outfit with statement pieces from Amrapali Jewels, including ornate earrings, stacked bangles and oversized polki rings. A green polki ring stands out against the teal fabric, while pink stones on another ring pick up the saree's fuchsia border. We also love the stone danglers that add another pop of colour to her ensemble. A bag from The Leather Garden completed the outfit.
For makeup, by Bhumi's standards she stays relatively restrained, with defined eyeliner, softly sculpted cheeks, a muted lip colour and her hair swept back into a neat updo.
