Arasan: Silambarasan TR's Film Promo Delayed Due To Anirudh Ravichander's Wedding? New Release Date Revealed

Silambarasan TR's Arasan promo may be delayed until December 4 due to Anirudh Ravichander's pending BGM and wedding commitments. Here's the latest update.

Fans awaiting the first extended glimpse of Silambarasan TR’s Arasan may have to wait a little longer. The upcoming action entertainer, directed by Vetrimaaran, was expected to unveil its promotional video soon. However, the release has reportedly been postponed as composer Anirudh Ravichander is yet to complete the background score. With the musician occupied with personal commitments, including his wedding scheduled for this month, the makers are now considering December 4, 2026, for the promo’s release.

According to a report by India Today Digital, nearly all the work on the eight-minute promotional video has been completed. However, Vetrimaaran and Silambarasan TR are reportedly unwilling to release it without Anirudh’s original background score, despite producer Kalaippuli S Thanu suggesting an alternative arrangement.

Arasan Promo Reportedly Delayed Due To Anirudh Ravichander’s Commitments

The report states that the principal cast has already completed the dubbing portions for the promo. Silambarasan TR, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Andrea Jeremiah, Samuthirakani and Kishore have reportedly finished recording their respective dialogues.

Vetrimaaran has also completed his voice-over, which is expected to introduce audiences to the film’s storyline and explain its connection with the world of Vada Chennai.

However, the background score remains unfinished. The team has reportedly been waiting for Anirudh to complete the music for the past week. With the composer preparing for his wedding this month, the filmmakers are said to be accommodating his schedule rather than pressing him to finish the assignment immediately.

According to the report, producer Kalaippuli S Thanu proposed using the background score from an earlier promotional video to avoid another postponement. However, Vetrimaaran and STR reportedly felt that Anirudh’s specially composed score was essential to achieving the intended impact.

Consequently, the team has apparently decided against rushing the promo’s release.

Arasan Promo May Release Alongside Vijay Sethupathi’s Train

The makers are now reportedly exploring the possibility of unveiling Arasan’s promotional video on December 4, 2026.

Interestingly, the date coincides with the scheduled theatrical release of Vijay Sethupathi’s Train, directed by Mysskin. The film is also produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, making it a potential occasion to introduce the extended Arasan promo to audiences.

The promotional video is expected to run for approximately eight minutes and will reportedly feature filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

However, neither the makers nor the film’s team have officially confirmed the proposed December 4 release date. Details about the promo’s eventual launch are therefore still awaited.

Arasan To Expand Dhanush’s Vada Chennai Universe

Directed by Vetrimaaran, Arasan is being developed as a spin-off of Vada Chennai, the acclaimed gangster drama starring Dhanush. The upcoming film will explore another story within the same cinematic universe, with Silambarasan TR leading the cast.

Apart from STR, the ensemble includes Vijay Sethupathi, Chaitra J. Achar, Yogalakshmi, Andrea Jeremiah and Priyanka Arul Mohan. The action entertainer is currently scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027.

On the professional front, Silambarasan was last seen alongside Kamal Haasan in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, which explored the changing relationship between a man and his foster son.

The actor is also reportedly preparing to collaborate with Dude director Keerthiswaran on another action entertainer. Nayanthara has been rumoured to play the female lead, while reports suggest that the project could be completed within 120 days. An official announcement regarding its cast and production schedule is still awaited.
