Niti Taylor, who was one of the semi-finalists on Amazon Prime Video's Alliance, recently talked about her abandoned film career. She made her film debut with the Telugu film Mem Vayasuku Vacham opposite Tanish in 2012. However, Niti only starred in a handful of Telugu films before concentrating completely on television and web series. The Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan actress revealed that a casting couch experience shook her up so badly that she gave up films altogether. A director informed her that she would have to sleep with him for the role, leaving her shocked.
Niti Taylor opens up about why she quit films
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Niti Taylor shared that a conversation with a director left her uneasy and unable to form a reaction for a while. Without naming the man, she recalled, "The director who did the first film with me called me for another movie when we were done with it. Then he said, 'But you will have to sleep with me for it this time.'"
In a shocked state, Niti didn't know how to react properly. She cut the call and blocked the filmmaker. Later, she rang up her mother and told her about his proposition. After the success of her debut Telugu film, which had done well at the box office, Niti had seen him around with other women.
"I never knew when he would try this with me. That's when I decided I would never do any movies ever again," she added. The actress said that she didn't tell anyone this before, as she was just "zapped" by the whole casting couch experience. Niti's other Telugu films were Pelli Pustakam (2013) and Love Dot Com (2014).
And she kept her word, as the actress has not done another film after that casting couch experience. In 2020, Niti married her fiancé, Pariskshit Bawa, on August 13, a year after they were engaged. The couple's parents and close family members were the only ones in attendance.
