The Daler Mehndi 'drunk' concert row refuses to end. While Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the singer's brother Mika Singh urged everyone to move on, the controversy heated up again after Minister Subodh Uniyal refused to apologise. As the incident continues to make headlines, several singers from the industry have come out in Mehndi's support. Popular Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan is the latest celebrity to back the veteran singer. Here's what he had to say about the row!

Gurdas Maan Comes Out In Support Of Daler Mehndi

In a recent interview, Gurdas Maan weighed in on the Daler Mehndi 'drunk' controversy. He said it is important to remember that artists are human beings and have their own challenges. Reacting to the backlash over why no one was informed beforehand, Maan said that an artist always tries his best to entertain his fans.

He told Times of India, "An artist'ss journey is often more complex than what we see from the outside. We must remember that artists are human too, with personal circumstances and challenges of their own. An artist will always try and do his best for his fans in spite of health issues, personal loss, injuries, etc. We must approach every situation with compassion, give the benefit of the doubt, and allow due process to take its course."

Daler Mehndi 'Drunk' Row Update

For those unversed, Daler Mehndi was set to perform at a Navratri event in Uttarakhand when he was accused of arriving drunk by Minister Subodh Uniyal. A video showed the politician questioning the singer and allegedly belittling him for being unable to speak. It was later revealed that Mehndi had been unwell and was not under the influence of alcohol.

Mika Singh strongly reacted to the row and demanded an apology. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, meanwhile, weighed in on the incident and reportedly apologised on Uniyal's behalf. Later, he also spoke to Daler and Mika over the phone, assuring them that they would always be welcomed in the state with the utmost respect.

However, the minister has stood by his words. Recently, in an interview, he once again refused to apologise. In an interview with Satya Vani, he said, "Mera maafi maangne ka prashn hi nahi hai. Ye batao, maine koi apradh kiya hai jo maafi maangu (There is no question of me apologising. Tell me, have I committed any crime that I should apologise)?"

This has once again intensified the controversy.
