Zee Entertainment Enterprises appointed veteran Komal Nahta as Creative Director for the Movies Business on October 26, 2026. Nahta will report to CEO Punit Goenka to help streamline the company’s movie acquisition and studio verticals. He brings four decades of industry experience to help the firm grow and sharpen investment priorities.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises appointed industry veteran Komal Nahta as Creative Director for the Movies Business to provide strategic oversight across the movies value chain. Nahta will report to Punit Goenka, Chief Executive Officer at Zee.

The company restructured the Zee Studios and movie acquisition vertical to accelerate growth, streamline decision-making, sharpen investment priorities and encourage stronger collaboration across production, commissioning, acquisition and distribution functions.

Streamlined architecture

Under the streamlined architecture, the Zee Studios team and its Business Head Suraj Singh will report to Nahta. Further, the new official will provide oversight on commercial and movie acquisition decisions across platforms, with a sharp focus on Hindi and other language movies.

“I’ve been associated with Z’s ETC channel as the host of its very popular Bollywood business show for a decade. So this appointment feels like a homecoming of sorts for me. I hope I can live up to the huge responsibility and faith reposed in me by the Founder of the Company, Subhash Chandra, and CEO, Punit Goenka, as I respect and love them immensely,” said Komal Nahta, Creative Director – Movies Business, Zee Entertainment Enterprises.

Nahta comes with over four decades of experience in the Indian film industry and deep expertise across content evaluation, audience preferences, and box-office trends. He has previously worked as a film trade analyst, critic, publisher and television host amongst others. He is the publisher of the long-running film trade magazine ‘Film Information’ and has anchored the trade show ‘Bollywood Business’ on ETC for 10 years. He also serves on the advisory board of Cinema Capital.

“We are bringing together creative conviction and commercial discipline to maximise the value of our investments in movies across platforms. I am confident that Nahta’s deep understanding of the movies ecosystem and strong industry relationships make him uniquely positioned to guide the teams for our next phase of growth,” said Goenka on the appointment.

The new business architecture stems from the company’s aspirations to garner maximum share of the attention economy, unlock greater value from investments made across the movies segment and build a more scalable, future-ready framework.
