Virat Kohli increased his stake in Agilitas Sports to 6.4% on October 29, 2026. This followed the NCLT approval of the merger between One8 Sports and Agilitas. Kohli said, "The aspiration is for the brand to outlast all of us." The brand now plans to expand into many global markets.
Virat Kohli's stake in Agilitas Sports has increased from 1.8 per cent to 6.4 per cent following the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Mumbai Bench's approval of the merger of One8 Sports Private Limited with Agilitas Sports Private Limited. Kohli had earlier invested ₹40 crore in Agilitas.
Kohli will continue as co-founder of one8 and remain closely involved in building the brand. The merger brings one8 into Agilitas' sportswear business, giving it access to capabilities across product development, design, research and development, manufacturing and retail.
one8 aims to build a global sportswear brand from India. With Agilitas' capabilities behind it, the brand plans to expand into new sporting categories and grow its presence in markets including the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
Developing Brand
Virat Kohli, Co-founder of one8 and Investor in Agilitas, said: "The opportunity to realise a dream of mine in terms of building a sports brand while I was still playing was something I always wanted. I've been involved in literally everything from day one, from the technology and materials to the designing. This is a vision that I feel very strongly about. The aspiration is for the brand to outlast all of us, become a part of people's lifestyle and ultimately stand on its own."
Abhishek Ganguly, Co-founder and CEO of Agilitas Sports, said: "The ambition for one8 is to build a leading global sportswear brand from India. That requires more than a strong brand or a distribution network. It requires the ability to develop products, get the details right and build the capabilities to take those products to consumers. With one8 now integrated into Agilitas, the brand can draw on that broader ecosystem as it builds for the long term. Virat remains closely involved in that journey."
