Synopsis
Virat Kohli's stake in Agilitas Sports has increased significantly following the merger with his one8 brand. The merger was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal, enhancing Agilitas’ product development capabilities. Kohli invested Rs 40 crore in Agilitas and remains a co-founder of one8. Agilitas aims to build a leading global sportswear brand from India through this integration.
Mumbai: Cricketer Virat Kohli’s stake in Agilitas Sports has risen to 6.4% from 1.8% following the merger of his one8 brand with the sportswear company, making him its second-largest individual shareholder after co-founder and CEO Abhishek Ganguly.
The National Company Law Tribunal’s Mumbai bench approved the merger of One8 Sports Private Limited with Agilitas Sports Private Limited. Kohli had earlier invested Rs 40 crore in Agilitas and will continue as one8 co-founder.
The merger gives one8 access to Agilitas’ product development, research, manufacturing and retail capabilities as it seeks to expand into new sporting categories and markets including the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia.
“The opportunity to realise a dream of mine in terms of building a sports brand while I was still playing was something I always wanted. I’ve been involved in literally everything from day one, from the technology and materials to the designing. This is a vision that I feel very strongly about. The aspiration is for the brand to outlast all of us, become a part of people’s lifestyle and ultimately stand on its own,” Kohli said.

Agilitas’ portfolio includes one8, sportswear brand Lotto and Mochiko Shoes, its sports footwear manufacturing business.
“The ambition for one8 is to build a leading global sportswear brand from India. That requires more than a strong brand or a distribution network. It requires the ability to develop products, get the details right and build the capabilities to take those products to consumers. With one8 now integrated into Agilitas, the brand can draw on that broader ecosystem as it builds for the long term. Virat remains closely involved in that journey,” Ganguly said.
Founded in 2023 by Ganguly, former managing director of Puma India and Southeast Asia, along with former Puma executives Atul Bajaj and Amit Prabhu, Agilitas is building an integrated sportswear business spanning manufacturing, brands and retail.
It acquired sports footwear manufacturer Mochiko Shoes in 2023 and secured a long-term licence to manufacture and sell Italian sportswear brand Lotto in India and select international markets. Its consumer-facing businesses also include SportsYard, a multi-brand sports retail format.
Agilitas raised Rs400 crore in 2023 through funds advised by Convergent Finance and subsequently attracted investment from Nexus Venture Partners. In June 2026, it raised another Rs225 crore from Nexus and Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, to expand manufacturing capacity, product development, research and development, retail and brand building.
The company reported revenue of nearly Rs1,400 crore in fiscal 2026 and expects to cross Re1,800-1,900 crore in the current fiscal year.
