Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict affirming the State Government’s ownership of Miyapur lands valued at ₹50,000 crore.

The Chief Minister thanked the Supreme Court for the verdict and alleged that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), his relative Damodar Rao and Goldstone Prasad had attempted to grab the valuable Miyapur lands.

He alleged that KCR, his family members and BRS leaders had attempted to encroach upon valuable government lands in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.

The Chief Minister said the State Government had put forward strong arguments before the court to protect the lands. Following the favourable verdict, he had directed officials to take appropriate measures to safeguard the property.

“We are trying to protect government lands from encroachments by KCR and his family members. We will discuss the matter in the Cabinet and decide on the sale of these valuable lands. The proceeds will be utilised for development, particularly in irrigation, education and healthcare,” he said.

Claiming that his government had protected government lands worth ₹1.5 lakh crore in the past three years, he cited several instances where legal battles had been fought to prevent alleged encroachments.
