IDFC First Bank reported a net profit of Rs 1,045 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, nearly tripling from last year. Strong loan and fee growth helped the bank, as net interest income rose 21% to Rs 6,184 crore. However, the net interest margin fell to 5.6% this quarter.
IDFC First Bank's Q2 net profit tripled to Rs 1,045 crore, supported by strong loan and fee growth. Net interest income rose 21%, while net interest margin declined to 5.6%.
IDFC First Bank's net profit grew threefold to Rs 1,045 crore in the quarter ended September 2026 from Rs 352 crore a year ago due to strong growth in both loans and fees.
Loans, including credit substitutes and FCNR(B)-backed lending, increased 30% year on year to Rs 3.5 lakh crore. Excluding loans secured by FCNR(B) deposits, loan growth was 22%, the bank said.
As a result, net interest income (NII) increased 21% to Rs 6,184 crore from Rs 5,113 crore a year ago.
Net interest margin (NIM) fell to 5.6% from 5.9% in the quarter ended June 2026, largely due to a 16-basis-point impact from loans given to garner FCNR(B) deposits.
