The company disclosed the progress on Wednesday evening and stated in its investors presentation that it has spent ₹16,133 crore on the project including ₹3,895 crore in FY25, ₹7,979 crore in FY26 and ₹4,319 crore in the first half of FY27, taking cumulative spending to around 62% of the planned investment. "We are constructing a one-million-tonne-capacity plant at Mundra. It is approximately a ₹26,000-crore capex plan, out of which we have crossed the 60% mark in terms of project spend and construction on the ground," the management said during an investors' call on Wednesday evening.
"The first part of the project is expected to get commissioned in the next fiscal. After commissioning, the plant will get stabilised in the next six to nine months. The plant is progressing well and on schedule," the management added. The plant will produce PVC and related materials. The first phase is part of a planned 2-million-tonne-per-annum PVC complex that Adani Enterprises is developing as the cornerstone of a petrochemical cluster at Mundra in Kutch district. The project is expected to help reduce India's dependence on imported PVC, which is widely used in pipes, construction materials, cables and other industrial applications. Domestic demand is supported by infrastructure development, housing, water supply and irrigation projects.
The Mundra investment is part of Adani Enterprises' strategy to build new industrial and infrastructure businesses. The company's expansion plans span petrochemicals, copper, new energy, airports and data centres.
