South African Lawyer Who Mourned Girlfriend Online Jailed for Life for Her Murder

The South Gauteng High Court sentenced attorney Thubelihle Sbonakaliso Mpisi to life in prison on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. He murdered his girlfriend, Mahlako Malebo Rabalao, and burned her body inside her car in Midrand. Mpisi had used social media to mourn her publicly, but evidence showed he killed her instead.
