Trump-backed Hassan falls short in Michigan House primary to take on McDonald Rivet

Thomas Smith defeated Amir Hassan in the Michigan 8th Congressional District GOP primary. Hassan, who got an endorsement from President Trump in June, fell short in his bid to challenge Representative Kristen McDonald Rivet. McDonald Rivet now prepares for the November election with a large fundraising lead over her opponent.
